Fit & sizing advice

Our wool socks run large, so if you are between two sizes, feel free to choose the smaller one. They are available in sizes 36 to 48, making them suitable for both women and men. Material & care

Made from 100% organic wool – without synthetic additives. The wool is GOTS-certified and sourced from controlled organic farms in Europe. And the best part: you almost never need to wash them. Wool cleans itself thanks to the natural lanolin (wool fat) in the fiber. Hang them outside or in the bathroom after wearing, and they are ready for use again.

Do you still want to wash them? Use cold water, the wool wash cycle, and a bit of Lanalicious wool detergent. That nourishes the fiber, keeps it supple, and prevents drying out. Not unimportant: maintenance & wear

Sustainable does not mean indestructible. 100% wool is more prone to wear than socks with synthetic fibers. So, wear well-fitting shoes, and if you notice them getting thinner: darn them with darning wool. It is fun work – and your socks will last for years.

FAQ – frequently asked questions

Do these socks itch?
No, Hirsch Natur wool is soft and supple. Wool breathes, which prevents clammy feet – and thus also prevents irritation.

Can I put them in the washing machine?
Preferably not too often. Only on a cold wool wash cycle, with Lanalicious. Otherwise: just air them out, that works better.

Are they suitable as slippers?
No, these socks are not reinforced with synthetics and will wear out faster with direct contact with the floor. Wear them inside shoes or slippers.

Why do they run large?
Wool is elastic and shapes itself to your foot. Hirsch Natur does not use synthetic stretch fibers, so the fit is naturally a bit looser.

Why is wool so sustainable?
Because wool is breathable, renewable, and biodegradable – and thanks to the lanolin, it is also antibacterial. No microplastics, no waste, just warm feet.
