All about this product

Happy Lona MALAIKA brass earrings with colored thread

Sometimes you have earrings that are just nice. And sometimes you have earrings that immediately elevate an entire outfit. These are clearly the latter.

The MALAIKA earrings by Happy Lona are fair trade, handmade, and crafted from brass wrapped in delicate colored thread. The result is striking, warm, and yet surprisingly stylish. They have a cheerful quality, but remain chic due to the combination with the gold-toned brass. And believe me: these are the kind of earrings people take an extra look at.

Why you want to wear these earrings

These earrings have a lovely total length of about 7 cm. The pendant with the colored thread is approximately 5 cm long. This makes them eye-catching without being clunky. What I love about them: you get a real statement piece, yet they remain light and wearable.

The top is a stud in a gold-toned brass look, with the oval pendant underneath, which is partially wrapped in colored thread. We have them in all colors of the rainbow, so there is always a version that matches your mood, outfit, or favorite color.

How to wear them

These are true mood-setters. Beautiful with a simple black sweater, a festive blouse, or a summer dress. Precisely because the shape is understated, the colors can really pop. I also think these are typical earrings that you can wear during the day, but that also feel perfectly appropriate for the evening. No hassle, big impact.

What I often hear from customers: “they are big, but not heavy at all.” And that is exactly why they are so great. You get that outspoken look without having relieved ears at the end of the day.

Fair trade and made with care

Happy Lona is a Dutch jewelry brand by designer Nanouk Jutte-Masselink. What once started with handmade jewelry on the streets of Leiden has grown into a unique brand where craftsmanship, material, and meaning come together.

Happy Lona works directly with small workshops and family businesses, including in India and Turkey. No detours, no anonymous mass production. Just short lines of communication, fair collaboration, and attention for the people who make these pieces. This way of working ensures that makers are paid fairly and can work in good conditions. And that just feels better, especially when something is this beautiful.

Material, shape, and appearance

The MALAIKA earrings are made of brass and partially wrapped in fine thread. That combination gives them a warm, natural look. The shape is a timeless oval, but the color blocks make them playful and lively. This allows them to effortlessly fit all kinds of styles: from basic and minimalist to outspoken and colorful.

Because they are handmade, small details may differ slightly. That is not a flaw, but rather the charm of true craftsmanship.

How to keep your brass jewelry looking beautiful

Brass is beautiful, but it needs a little love. It is best not to wear these earrings in the shower, while swimming, or in bed. Perfume, body lotion, hairspray, and moisture can cause the brass to dull more quickly. My tip: put your jewelry on only after you are dressed and have already applied your perfume.

Preferably store your brass jewelry dry and separately, for example in a pouch or box. This prevents scratches and discoloration. Does the brass become a bit dull over time? You can gently polish it with a soft, dry cloth. That way, they stay beautiful for much longer.

Why Happy Lona fits so well with Natur-el

Happy Lona opts for slow fashion. No fast trends, but jewelry you want to wear for a long time. Timeless in shape, fairly made, and with attention to detail. That, of course, fits incredibly well with how we at Natur-el view products. Beautiful things are even more beautiful when they are made well and you know where they come from.

And just like that, you were gone!

Wassen
