We always say, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some wool. But what is actually a "woolly"? Generally, we mean our wool silk underwear. However, this could just as well be a lovely shirt made of 100% wool. It is best to wear wool underwear directly against your bare skin. Wool is a hollow fiber and therefore adapts to your body temperature, insulating it. Because of the scales, just like your own hair, wool breathes, unlike its synthetic "friends."

This men's short-sleeve shirt is made of 70% organic wool and 30% silk

The wool is organic and certified with the IVN Best certificate. This is essentially the very best you can find in organic wool. This t-shirt has a fitted cut. Wool and wool-silk are extremely stretchy, but it looks best when it fits snugly, because then the wool can do its job best. Engel Natur is nice and long, which is great because then you won't have a cold, bare back!

Wool is self-cleaning

In principle, you therefore do not need to wash wool. The best way to take care of your wool is to let it rest for 24 hours after wearing it. You can then hang your undershirt, shirt, or long-sleeve in the bathroom or outside for a night to air it out. The lanolin enhances this self-cleaning process. When your wool gets a little bit damp, this becomes a bit "soapy." It is not strange not to wash your wool for half a year. But it is important to air out your wool.
After washing, pull your shirt into shape, especially lengthwise. If you don't do this, it can shrink during washing. If you pull your shirt back into shape lengthwise, it will stay nice and long. Convenient, because then you can tuck it into your trousers. Keeps your back nice and warm.

70% biologische wol / 30% zijde is bijzonder

En dit is waarom: De combinatie van biologische wol en zijde is een van de meest verfijnde die er bestaat. Wol zorgt voor warmte, veerkracht en een natuurlijke isolerende werking; zijde voegt een ongeëvenaarde zachtheid en glans toe. Samen vormen ze een stof die heerlijk warm aanvoelt zonder zwaar te zijn, en die prachtig valt. Het is een materiaal dat je verwent: op je huid, en in je hoofd. Men zegt zelfs, dat de zijde in combinatie met biologische wol prikkel-reducerend is. Wel eens van het woord: "cocoonen" gehoord? Cocoonen betekent je bewust terugtrekken uit de drukke buitenwereld om binnenshuis in alle rust en geborgenheid te ontspannen. Het is afgeleid van het Engelse woord 'cocoon' (cocon), waarbij je je als een (zijde)rups in je eigen veilige coconnetje nestelt om op te laden. Dat is waarom wij zo van zijde, of biologische wol met zijde houden. Het reguleert je lichaamstemperatuur niet alleen, maar zorgt ook voor een beschermende filter. Selfcare dus! Ook fijn voor kindjes die op school veel last hebben van prikkels. Dit helpt ze om beter bij zichzelf te blijven.

Wassen met mate!

Was met de hand in lauwwarm water of gebruik het wolwasprogramma op maximaal 30 graden. Wol en zijde zijn gevoelig voor hitte en beweging, deze veroorzaken krimp.

Wasmiddel met lanoline

Gebruik een mild wolwasmiddel MET Lanoline, zoals ons wolwasmiddel LANALICIOUS.

Drogen

Druk het water er voorzichtig uit, wring nooit. Laat het kledingstuk plat drogen op een droge handdoek, uit de buurt van direct zonlicht.

Extra verzorging

Laat het kledingstuk regelmatig luchten in plaats van wassen. Bewaar het liggend om de vorm te bewaren. Pas je op voor motten?
