Why wool-silk is so great for newborns

This romper is made of 70% organic wool and 30% silk. A combination that we recommend so often for a good reason. Babies have to work hard to maintain their body temperature, and wool actively helps with that. The wool adapts to your baby's body temperature and maintains it without causing them to overheat.

The silk makes the fabric extra soft and provides a kind of natural filter around your baby. Many parents notice that their child is calmer in wool-silk, is less easily startled, and feels more comfortable in busy or new situations. This fabric is also very suitable for babies with sensitive skin or eczema.

Wrap-around romper: less fuss, less heat loss

Fit and sizing advice

Engel Natur rompers are long and narrow. This is intentional, so they fit nicely without pinching. Are you doubting between two sizes? Then we almost always recommend the larger size. Wool is extremely stretchy, so this romper is also very suitable for rounder babies.

You will notice that stretch during changing as well. The fabric moves with you, making it all just a little bit easier.

Washing wool: preferably not too often

Wool is self-cleaning. This means that you often don't have to wash this romper at all. Airing it out after wearing is usually sufficient. Hang it, for example, in the bathroom overnight or by an open window.

Do you still need to wash it? You can simply do so in the washing machine on the wool cycle, with a wool detergent containing lanolin, such as Lanalicious. Lanolin nourishes the wool and keeps the fabric soft and supple.

Use a small amount of detergent, do not overfill the machine, and remove the romper from the wash immediately. Gently pull it into shape and let it dry lying flat.
