ENGEL Natur pure wool leggings for women in saffron
For anyone truly seeking warmth, this is a wonderful base layer: the ENGEL Natur wool leggings for women in saffron melange are made from 100% organic wool. No silk and no synthetic fibers in the fabric, just pure wool directly against your skin. You can wear them under a dress or skirt, under regular trousers during cold days, or together with a wool shirt as warm pajamas.
The leggings are thin enough to wear under your clothes, but feel fuller and warmer than wool-silk leggings. The long legs are also pleasant if you are taller yourself. And then that color: saffron melange is warm, cheerful, and absolutely does not intend to behave like boring underwear.

A warm wool base layer for cold days
These wool leggings are designed as undergarments. The fine fabric provides warmth without the bulk of thick pants. Under jeans, hiking trousers, or wide-leg pants, they form an extra layer that keeps your legs cozy. Under a dress or skirt, you can also wear the leggings visibly.
Please note that these are not sturdy sports leggings or regular pants. The fabric is relatively thin and follows your body. If you want to wear them without trousers, a dress, or a skirt, a longer shirt or tunic worn over them makes the most sense.
These leggings are also very nice as nightwear. Combine them with a wool camisole or long-sleeve top and you have warm pajamas without thick, heavy fabric. Especially when your bedroom is cool, that can make the difference between falling asleep relaxed and rolling yourself in your duvet like a burrito for half the night.
100% wool or rather wool-silk?
This version consists of 100% organic wool and is therefore generally warmer than leggings made of 70% wool and 30% silk. Pure wool feels slightly fuller and less smooth. Wool-silk is lighter, more supple, and for many people somewhat softer on the skin.
Which quality is finest depends on what you are looking for. If you get cold easily or want a warm layer for outdoors and winter, then 100% wool is a logical choice. If you are looking for lighter leggings for a larger part of the year or are very sensitive to wool, then wool-silk may be more pleasant. How wool feels remains personal; even organic wool can feel a bit prickly on sensitive skin.

Fit and sizing advice
The wool leggings for women from ENGEL Natur are narrow and close-fitting. That is typical for a base layer: the fabric stays close to your body and easily fits under other trousers. The legs are relatively long, making this model also suitable for women with longer legs.
If you are doubting between two sizes, have fuller thighs, or do not want the waistband to feel tight? Then choose the larger size. Because of the fine fabric, a little extra room is more pleasant than tension on the seams and fibers.

Honest about stretching and wear
Pure wool tends to relax slightly during wear. Consequently, the leggings may become slightly wider around the knees over time. That is part of the material and is not a manufacturing defect. Let the leggings rest for a day after wearing; the fibers can then partially recover. Even after a careful wool wash, the fabric often pulls back into shape.
Furthermore, natural wool is less resistant to wear than synthetic sports leggings. Especially between the thighs and under tight trousers, friction can cause thin spots. If you wear the leggings almost daily, it is wise to alternate with a second pair. If a small hole or ladder appears, mend it immediately. This prevents a small wear spot from growing larger.
How to care for 100% wool leggings
Do not wash the leggings more often than necessary. Let them air out well after wearing, for example outside in a sheltered place or in the bathroom. Wool absorbs odors less quickly than many other fibers and is often fresh again after a night of airing.
Is washing necessary? Then use a cold wool wash cycle or follow the maximum temperature of 30 degrees on the care label. Choose a low spin speed and use a small amount of wool detergent with lanolin. Regular detergent, fabric softener, heat, and excessive movement can cause wool to shrink or felt.
Do not wring and do not put them in the dryer. Gently pull the leggings back into shape after washing, including the length, and let them dry flat. Do not lay them on the radiator.
