ENGEL Natur wool-silk women's briefs in navy
Woolen underwear: dusty or old-fashioned? These navy women's briefs by ENGEL Natur prove the opposite. They are soft, thin briefs made from 70% organic merino wool and 30% silk, with a high fit that provides good coverage for your stomach and lower back. Exactly the kind of underwear you put on for warmth and comfort, but then want to wear every single day.
The wool-silk fabric feels light and supple and fits easily under your regular clothing. The wool helps retain your body heat and can absorb moisture without feeling clammy. The silk makes the material smoother and softer. As a result, these briefs are less warm and bulky than a 100% wool version, but are softer and lighter on the skin.

High-rise briefs for extra warmth and coverage
These ENGEL Natur briefs sit noticeably higher than a small hipster. The fabric extends over your lower abdomen and also covers your lower back. This is pleasant if you tend to get cold around your waist or if low-rise briefs constantly seem to slide down as soon as you sit or bend over.
Many women find high-rise, soft briefs extra comfortable during their period. Not because woolen underwear treats or prevents symptoms, but because a warm layer around your stomach can simply feel nice on such days. The style also provides slightly more coverage than low-rise briefs when worn under a dress, skirt, or trousers on cold days.
Do you prefer short legs around the thighs? Then choose wool-silk boxers or hipsters. If you are looking for simple briefs without extra fabric around the legs, these briefs are the most practical option. You can view the various models in our wool-silk briefs and boxers for women collection.
How does wool-silk feel as underwear?
Wool-silk is a fine choice for underwear worn directly against the skin. The addition of silk makes the woolen fabric smoother, lighter, and more supple. Many people therefore find this quality softer than pure wool.
We don't call these briefs "itch-free" without qualification, as how wool feels remains personal. If you have very sensitive skin, you may also react to fine merino wool. However, within the range of woolen underwear, wool-silk is generally the softer and less warm choice.
The navy color is dark, calm, and easy to combine with other wool-silk items from ENGEL Natur. Together with a matching vest or shirt, the briefs form a comfortable base under your clothing without you having to wear a very bulky package of layers.
Fit and sizing advice
The briefs fit snugly around your waist, stomach, and bottom. The wool-silk fabric is stretchy, but the edges should not pinch anywhere. Choose your size based primarily on your waist and hip measurements.
If you fall between two sizes, have a fuller bottom, or prefer your underwear not to be tight, choose the larger size. Briefs that are slightly roomier also put less tension on the delicate fabric and seams.

Of course, you wash woolen underwear
For wool-silk vests and shirts, airing them out is often enough to postpone a wash. Naturally, the story is different for briefs: you wash these briefs regularly. This can be done in the washing machine, as long as you use the wool wash program and are careful with the temperature and agitation.
Wash the briefs at a maximum of 30 degrees with a low spin speed and a suitable wool detergent with lanolin. Do not use regular detergent, bleach, or fabric softener. These can damage the wool fibers or cause the fabric to felt.
Do you have a stain? Treat it locally with a little bit of gall soap. Do not scrub hard, but dab gently. Rinse the gall soap out well before putting the briefs in the washing machine. When in doubt, test the product on an inconspicuous area first.
Do not wring and do not put them in the dryer. After washing, gently pull the briefs back into shape and let them dry flat, away from the radiator.
