Sometimes you discover a basic that makes you think: I wish I’d had this years ago. This Engel Natur wool and silk long-sleeve is one of those. Why this shirt is so wonderful

The fabric consists of 70% organic merino wool and 30% silk. Wool regulates temperature; silk provides a soft, smooth touch against the skin. No superwash, no chemical coatings, just pure nature. As a result, this shirt doesn't smell easily and barely needs washing. Ideal for children who spend all day playing, running, exercising, and cuddling.

Undershirt, sports shirt, or pajama top

This long-sleeve is officially an undershirt, but in practice, it becomes everything: a sports shirt, pajama top, extra layer under a sweater, or just a comfy shirt for at home. The fit is on the long and narrow side, as we’ve come to expect from Engel, which means the shirt stays tucked into pants well and keeps backs warm. For slightly broader kids, you can always check if a size up is more comfortable.

Washing advice for wool-silk

You really don’t need to wash wool underwear after every wear. Hang the long-sleeve outside or in the bathroom while you shower; it will freshen up on its own. If you still want to wash it, always choose a cold wool cycle, don’t overfill the machine, and use very little detergent.

For our organic wool clothing, ALWAYS use a detergent with lanolin. Our favorite detergent is Lanalicious. It cares for the wool fiber down to the last detail and replenishes the natural wool fats, so your long-sleeve remains soft, supple, and fresh.

Because of the blend of merino wool and silk, the shirt feels very soft. Most children can wear it directly against the skin without any issues.
