EL NATURALISTA wool slippers SLIPPER unisex
They are back! And frankly, we are quite happy about that. The El Naturalista HOME NA70 is a warm, woolly slip-on for anyone who kicks off their shoes the moment they get home, but prefers not to shuffle around the house with cold feet afterwards.
This unisex slipper is made of soft, mulesing-free wool and features a fixed wool footbed. Warm, breathable, and cozy, without your feet ending up in a synthetic sauna. The adjustable buckle ensures the slipper stays securely on your foot, and thanks to the sturdy Softlight outsole with cork flecks, you can even wear them outside for a moment. To the mailbox, the trash bin, the garden, or that one neighbor you still need to pick up a package from.
We have the HOME NA70 in two colors: OCEAN, a cool, heathered dark blue, and NATUREL, a calm, heathered beige-brown.

A slip-on that actually fits well
A woolly slipper sounds wonderful, but you shouldn't have to spend half the day standing on the edge of the sole. That is precisely why we aren't very happy with many ordinary slip-on slippers. Your foot slides sideways, the sole stays behind, and before you know it, you're walking crookedly through the kitchen. Not exactly ideal.
With this HOME NA70, the wool upper wraps nicely around the foot, and the sole extends well under the entire width. With the adjustable buckle, you can make the slip-on looser or tighter around the instep. This helps it stay on your foot better than a completely open mule. Slip in, adjust the buckle, and you're done. No slipper gymnastics required.
For those who prefer a slip-on over a Glerups boot
We remain huge fans of our Glerups, of course. Those woolly boots hug your feet and ankles beautifully and are fantastic for those who are always cold. But not everyone wants to wear a closed boot at home. Some people just want to be able to slip into something quickly, without bending, pulling, or wiggling.
For those people, this El Naturalista is ideal. You still get the warmth and temperature-regulating properties of wool, but in an open slip-on model. Your heel remains free, and you can adjust the fit thanks to the buckle. Not a replacement for Glerups, then, but a very nice addition for people who prefer wearing a slipper or clog.
Why wool feels so pleasant on your feet
Wool retains heat, but can simultaneously absorb and release moisture. This keeps your feet pleasantly warm without feeling clammy. That makes wool very suitable for slippers: cozy in winter, but often pleasant during cooler spring and autumn days as well.
The wool is mulesing-free. Mulesing is a painful procedure sometimes used on Merino sheep to prevent issues with fly larvae. The wool used for these slippers has not undergone that treatment.
How wool feels on the skin is personal. Most people find the material comfortable, but every skin is different. Are you very sensitive to wool? Then please come and try them on with bare feet first.
Minimalist and comfortably roomy
The HOME NA70 has a flat sole and a comfortable fit that gives the foot space. It’s not for nothing that 'Barefoot Minimalista' is printed on the footbed. Toes can lie next to each other more naturally, and the shoe has no raised heel to push your foot forward.
Just don't expect the paper-thin sole of an extreme barefoot shoe. This slipper has a practical outsole that protects your feet from cold tiles, small stones, and a wet garden path. It is primarily a roomy, flat, and flexible indoor slipper with a minimalist base.
Need to head outside for a moment? No problem
Beneath the slipper is a sturdy Softlight sole infused with cork flecks. That outsole provides more protection and grip than a felt or leather slipper sole. You can therefore safely wear them outside for a short round around the house.
They are still wool slippers, not rain boots. Avoid deep puddles, prolonged rain, and soaked grassy fields. The sole can handle outdoor use, but the wool upper is not waterproof. For a spontaneous forest walk, we would recommend putting on actual shoes.
OCEAN or NATUREL?
OCEAN is a deep, heathered blue-gray color. Cool, calm, and just a bit different from standard anthracite. A color that both men and women find very easy to wear.
NATUREL is a warm heathered beige-brown tone in which you can nicely see the different wool fibers. Light, natural, and cozy without becoming 'sad beige'. We certainly paid close attention to that.
Made with recycled components
According to El Naturalista, the HOME NA70 is built from 100% recycled, high-quality components. The upper and fixed footbed are made of wool, and the Softlight sole contains cork flecks. The sole and the upper are connected all around with a 360° stitching construction.
Even a product made of recycled materials has an impact, of course. Resources, energy, transport, and production are still required. The sustainable value here lies in reusing materials, the sturdy construction, and a design that you will likely wear every day. Because let's be honest: few shoes cover as many miles between the sofa, the kitchen, and the front door as a good pair of slippers.
Fit and sizing advice
The HOME NA70 has a comfortable, reasonably roomy fit. The buckle over the instep is adjustable, allowing you to get a better fit for your foot. When choosing your size, keep in mind the socks you want to wear with them. Thick wool socks naturally take up more room than bare feet or a thin sock.
The wool footbed is not removable. If you use your own orthotics, this model is likely less suitable for that reason. If you are unsure about the size or have a high instep, please contact us or come and try them on in Rotterdam.
How to care for wool slippers
Fortunately, you don't need to wash wool very often. Let the slippers air out regularly and carefully brush away dry dirt with a soft brush. You can treat small stains locally with a slightly damp cloth.
Do not put these slippers in the washing machine and do not submerge them in water. The combination of wool, the metal buckle, the stitched seams, and the outsole finds a full-blown swimming lesson much less pleasant than you do. Always let damp slippers dry slowly at room temperature and never place them on or against a heater.
Frequently asked questions about the El Naturalista HOME NA70
Are these slippers made of real wool?
Yes. The upper is made of wool and the slipper has a fixed premium wool footbed. The wool used is mulesing-free.
Are the slippers unisex?
Yes, the HOME NA70 is suitable for women and men. You simply choose the size and color that suit you.
Can I go outside in them?
Yes, the Softlight outsole is suitable for short trips outside, for example to the mailbox, garden, or shed. The wool upper is not waterproof, so avoid rain and puddles.
Will I stand on the edge with this slipper?
The sole is wide and runs completely under the foot. Moreover, you can adjust the upper to your instep with the buckle, allowing the slip-on to stay on your foot better than many completely open slippers.
Is the footbed removable?
No, the premium wool footbed is fixed in the slipper and is not removable.
Is this a barefoot slipper?
The HOME NA70 has a flat, roomy, and minimalist shape without a raised heel. The outsole does offer more protection than an extremely thin barefoot shoe.
Do I have to wear socks in them?
No, you don't have to. Wool feels pleasant against bare feet as well. If you are someone who is always cold, then you can of course wear your wool socks too. Warm plus warm is sometimes exactly the amount of warmth a person needs.
