DEDICATED corduroy skirt MARJO HOLLY RED made of organic cotton
Short, bright red and equipped with pockets. Look, now you have our attention. The MARJO by DEDICATED is a short A-line skirt made of sturdy, wide-wale corduroy. It sits at the waist, flares out slightly towards the bottom, and has two large patch pockets on the front.
The color HOLLY RED is a bold red-pink shade that sits somewhere between raspberry, coral red, and warm pink. Not a cautious color, then, but also not so bright that you can only wear it out during carnival. Prefer something calmer? We also have the MARJO in CAPPUCCINO, a warm light-brown shade.

A short skirt that doesn't feel childish
The MARJO is short, but thanks to the sturdy corduroy, wide waistband, and large pockets, it looks tough rather than frumpy. The A-line model fits the waist and flares out slightly towards the hem. This gives the skirt a clear shape without being tight around the thighs.
The back is also slightly longer than the front. That difference isn't huge, but it's nice for a short style. DEDICATED has fortunately understood that we like to wear a skirt without having to check all day whether everything is still in its place.
Wide 6-wale corduroy
The MARJO is made of 6-wale corduroy. The word ‘wale’ indicates how many ridges there are per inch in the fabric. The lower the number, the wider the rib. With six ribs per inch, this skirt has a fairly coarse, clearly visible cord structure.
That wide rib gives the skirt body and ensures the A-line holds its shape nicely. Corduroy also catches the light differently, meaning HOLLY RED can look redder, pinker, or darker depending on the light. Just enough life in the fabric, without glitter, sequins, or other nonsense.
Pockets that can actually hold things
On the front, there are two large patch pockets. The rib direction of the pockets runs diagonally, making them stand out beautifully against the vertical rib of the skirt. A simple detail, but one that makes the model a lot more interesting.
The pockets are not just for show. You can actually fit your hands, keys, or phone in them. If you stuff your entire household inside, the skirt might hang a bit crooked, of course. Even organic cotton has its limits.
Elastic waist and a concealed zipper
The waistband is elastic at the back, allowing the skirt to move with you and fit comfortably. It also has an invisible zipper in the center back. So, you don't have to squeeze yourself through the waistband to put it on.
The combination of the elastic waist, the concealed zipper, and 2% elastane provides just that bit of extra comfort. Don't expect a super-stretchy jersey skirt: this remains a sturdy corduroy skirt with structure. The small amount of stretch primarily provides freedom of movement during walking, sitting, and other daily activities where your clothing is expected to cooperate.
HOLLY RED or CAPPUCCINO?
HOLLY RED is warm, cheerful, and bold. The shade leans towards raspberry red and combines surprisingly easily with white, ecru, dark blue, chocolate brown, burgundy, and green. It can also be worn with black, of course, but color deserves company.
CAPPUCCINO is the calm sister. A warm, neutral brown shade that combines easily with almost everything in your closet. Beautiful with neutrals, dark blue, green, or even a bright sweater. Cappuccino as a skirt, coffee as a drink. We see no problems at all.
How to style the MARJO
Wear the skirt in the autumn with a knitted sweater, thick tights, and boots. For a simpler outfit, a white T-shirt and sneakers are enough. The short, sturdy model also works very well with a blouse or a fitted turtleneck.
In the product photo, HOLLY RED is combined with a matching corduroy jacket. That makes it a complete suit, but the skirt can certainly function on its own. Honestly, it already has enough personality.
Are you sensitive to the cold? Woolen leggings or thick woolen tights underneath turn a short skirt into a surprisingly winter-resistant garment. Bare legs are not a mandatory part of the concept.
Fit and sizing advice
The MARJO has a regular fit and sits at the waist. The waistband is elastic but stretches about six centimeters per size. Therefore, look not only at the hip measurement but also at the waist measurement in the table below.
Choose your usual size if you want the skirt to fit as shown in the photo. If you are between sizes, compare the product measurements with a skirt that already fits you well. Keep in mind that sturdy corduroy gives less than a thin jersey fabric. The studio model is 179 cm tall and wears size S.

These are the measurements of the skirt itself, not the body. The waist and hip measurements are the full circumference. For the best comparison, measure a well-fitting skirt from your own closet. Pay particular attention to the waist, hip, and length. A centimeter difference seems small on paper, but can be surprisingly visible on a short skirt.
Organic cotton with a little bit of elastane
The MARJO consists of 98% organic cotton and 2% elastane. The organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers like those used in conventional cotton farming. The small amount of elastane provides extra freedom of movement and helps the skirt maintain its shape.
The fabric is GOTS-certified. GOTS sets requirements for organic fibers, the processing of the fabric, and social conditions within the production chain. That doesn't make the skirt impact-free — making clothing always costs resources and energy — but it does ensure clear agreements and independent control within a large part of the production process.
How to care for corduroy
Wash the skirt only when really necessary. Airing it out and spot-cleaning small stains is often enough. Does it need to go in the washing machine? Turn the skirt inside out, close the zipper, and follow the care label. Use a mild detergent and wash it with similar colors.
Avoid an overfilled drum and a high spin speed. Let the skirt air dry and give it a gentle shake after washing so the rib structure pops up nicely again. The dryer can cause cotton to shrink and flatten the pile of the corduroy.
If you want to iron it, do so on the inside and without pressing the iron hard onto the rib. Often, gentle steaming is enough. While wearing, also watch out for rough bag straps, sharp belts, and other items that constantly rub against the same spot. Corduroy is sturdy, but the soft pile can visibly wear out due to constant friction.
Frequently asked questions about the DEDICATED MARJO
Is the MARJO a miniskirt?
Yes, this is a short model. Depending on the size, the front is 41 to 46.5 cm long. The back is always about 2.5 cm longer.
Is the skirt true to size?
The MARJO has a regular fit and sits at the waist. In principle, choose your normal size, but double-check the waist, hip, and length measurements in the table.
Is the waist fully elastic?
The waistband has elastic and can stretch about six centimeters per size. The skirt also has a concealed zipper at the back.
Is there stretch in the fabric?
Yes. The fabric contains 2% elastane. This makes the sturdy corduroy move a little more easily, but it is not a very stretchy skirt.
Does the skirt have real pockets?
Most certainly. On the front, there are two spacious, patch pockets that can actually hold things.
What colors are available?
At Natur-el, we have the MARJO in HOLLY RED and CAPPUCCINO. HOLLY RED is a bold warm red-pink shade; CAPPUCCINO is a calm, warm light-brown color.
