DEDICATED corduroy overshirt KIL HOLLY RED in organic cotton
HOLLY RED might sound like you’re ready for Christmas dinner, but this color is much more fun than just red. It is a warm coral-pink shade that looks a bit redder or a bit pinker depending on the light. Striking, yet surprisingly easy to combine.
The KIL from DEDICATED is a sturdy organic cotton corduroy overshirt. It features a relaxed fit, a classic collar, and two large chest pockets. Wear it buttoned up as a shirt or open as a light jacket over a T-shirt or sweater. We have the KIL in two colors: HOLLY RED and CAPPUCCINO.

Shirt or jacket? Yes
The KIL sits right between a shirt and a light jacket. The sturdy corduroy provides more warmth and structure than a regular cotton blouse, but the overshirt is not lined or padded. This makes it suitable for wear during much of the year.
On mild days, wear it open over a T-shirt. When it gets colder, the relaxed fit allows for a long-sleeve or thin sweater underneath. Indoors, you can just keep it on without immediately feeling like you've accidentally sat down at the table in your winter coat.
Wide 6-wale corduroy
The KIL is made of sturdy 6-wale corduroy. ‘Wale’ indicates how many ridges there are per inch in the fabric. The lower the number, the wider the rib. With 6-wale corduroy, the rib is clearly visible and tangible.
That wide rib gives the overshirt a rugged look and ensures the color reacts differently to light. On the raised parts of the rib, HOLLY RED becomes a bright coral-pink, while the deeper parts appear a darker red. Corduroy provides a natural color gradient. No filter required.
Two large chest pockets
There are two spacious patch pockets on the front. They reinforce the workwear vibe of the overshirt and add a bit of extra character to an otherwise simple design. The pockets are open and have no flap or closure.
You can obviously put something small in them, but keep in mind that heavy items will pull on the fabric. A phone is fine, but we would store a full toolbox somewhere else.
HOLLY RED or CAPPUCCINO?
HOLLY RED is a vibrant coral-red color with a distinct pink undertone. Not bright red, not candy pink, and certainly not cautious. Looks beautiful with white, ecru, dark blue, denim, burgundy, and all shades of brown.
CAPPUCCINO is the calmer variant: a warm brown tone that is easy to combine and remains wearable for years. Great if you love natural tones but don't want to disappear into a completely "sad-beige" wardrobe.
Beautiful with the CAPPUCCINO trousers
HOLLY RED combines beautifully with the corduroy trousers in CAPPUCCINO, which we also have in stock. The warm brown brings out the red undertone of the overshirt, while the pink prevents the combination from looking too conservative or too "autumnal."
Because both garments are made of corduroy, you get a distinct set without it becoming one solid block of color. Wear a white or ecru T-shirt underneath and you’re basically done. Sometimes an outfit doesn't need to be more complicated than: a fun color on top, good trousers on the bottom.
How to style the KIL
For an easy everyday outfit, wear the overshirt open over a white T-shirt with jeans or the CAPPUCCINO trousers. With dark blue chinos and the buttons closed, the look becomes a bit smarter.
Black, dark brown, green, and burgundy also combine well with HOLLY RED. If you want the color to really speak for itself, keep the rest of your outfit calm. If you want more color, feel free to put on something blue, purple, or green. We are a shop, not the fashion police.
Relaxed fit
The KIL has a relaxed fit: straight, comfortable, and spacious enough to wear as an overshirt. The shoulders are relaxed, and there is plenty of room to move around the chest and waist.
Choose your usual size if you want to wear it like in the picture, open over a T-shirt or thin sweater. If you mainly want to wear it buttoned up as a shirt and prefer a narrower fit, first compare the product measurements below with an overshirt you already like.
The studio model is 183 cm tall and wears size M.

These are the measurements of the garment itself, not the body. The chest measurement is the full circumference of the overshirt. Because the KIL is intended to be worn over other clothing, that measurement should be larger than your own chest circumference.
When in doubt, measure a well-fitting shirt or light jacket from your closet and compare the chest circumference, shoulder width, and sleeve length. That is usually more reliable than chasing yourself with a measuring tape.
Organic cotton with a bit of stretch
The KIL consists of 98% organic cotton and 2% elastane. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers like those used in conventional cotton farming.
The small amount of elastane gives the sturdy corduroy just a bit more freedom of movement. Don't expect a stretchy jogging jacket: the fabric clearly retains its shape. You notice the bit of stretch primarily when you move, cycle, or reach forward.
The material is GOTS-certified. GOTS sets requirements for organic fibers, fabric processing, and social conditions within the production chain. Making clothing always has an impact, but an independent certification provides more clarity on how the material was produced and processed.
How to care for corduroy
You don't need to wash corduroy after every wear. First, hang the overshirt to air out and treat small stains locally. This is better for the fabric, the color, and the soft rib structure.
Does it have to go in the washing machine? Close the buttons, turn the overshirt inside out, and follow the care label. Use a mild detergent, wash with similar colors, and choose a gentle cycle. Don't overfill the drum, as harsh friction can flatten the soft pile of the corduroy.
Let the overshirt air dry and avoid the dryer. Shake it out gently after washing and iron only on the inside at a low temperature. Even better: use some steam and let the rib recover itself.
With intensive wear, corduroy can become smoother or lighter in areas with a lot of friction. Think of the elbows, cuffs, and places where a bag strap constantly rubs. That is part of the character of the fabric, but being careful with rough zippers and bags definitely helps.
