APU KUNTUR Wool Wrist Warmers MASI COLIBRI in 100% baby alpaca
I cannot say it often enough: if your hands are warm, the rest of your body usually feels a lot warmer too. I am sitting behind my laptop as we speak, wearing wool wrist warmers. Not because it is freezing in here, but because computer work always gives me such cold hands. And because I just really love beautiful wool accessories, but that aside :-)
The APU KUNTUR Wool Wrist Warmers MASI COLIBRI are made of 100% baby alpaca. They are silky soft, light, and wonderfully warm. Thanks to the thumb hole, they stay nicely in place, while your fingers remain free. Ideal for typing, reading, cycling, or working in a slightly colder room.

The COLIBRI color scheme
The MASI wrist warmers are available in two different color schemes: COLIBRI and CALEIDO. This is COLIBRI, a softer combination of sea green, blue, natural, and warm orange. Colorful, but not overly bright. Just enough to brighten up a quiet winter outfit.
Geometric shapes and small alpacas are incorporated into the jacquard knit. You might not see it at first, but once you discover them, you can no longer *not* see them. It is exactly those kinds of small details that make these wrist warmers so special.
We also have a wool sweater from APU KUNTUR in the same COLIBRI color scheme. Together they form a beautiful set, but the wrist warmers are of course also very nice with a plain coat, sweater, or cardigan.
Warm hands while keeping your fingers free
Wrist warmers are also known as fingerless gloves. They keep your wrists, hands, and part of your forearms warm while your fingers remain free. This allows you to simply type, write, use your phone, or rummage around in your bag without constantly having to take off your gloves.
Personally, I have even worn wool wrist warmers under my regular mittens while skiing. Blissful, having that extra layer. But honestly, I wear them much more often just inside. Behind the computer, in the shop, or during an evening on the couch where someone else is apparently in charge of the thermostat.
Thanks to the double knit, the MASI wrist warmers provide a surprising amount of warmth without feeling bulky. They fit nicely around the hand and wrist and easily fit under the sleeve of a coat or a looser sweater.
What makes baby alpaca so special?
Baby alpaca is among the finest and most luxurious alpaca fibers. The name refers to the fineness and softness of the fiber and does not automatically mean that the wool exclusively comes from young alpacas.
The fibers are smooth, light, and temperature-regulating. They retain heat well, but at the same time remain breathable. Ideal for hands that get cold quickly, without it feeling clammy or heavy.
Alpaca wool naturally contains no lanolin and is often experienced as pleasant by people who find regular wool to be itchy. Every skin is different, of course, but this is truly an accessory that you need to feel for yourself. The softness is difficult to explain through a screen.
Fair Trade made in Cusco, Peru
The APU KUNTUR Wool Wrist Warmers MASI COLIBRI are produced Fair Trade in Cusco, Peru. People in this region have been working with alpaca for generations. You can see that knowledge and experience in the fine jacquard knit and the neat finish.
By choosing 100% baby alpaca and good craftsmanship, you get an accessory that is not only beautiful but also intended to be worn for years. And because you can use wrist warmers both inside and outside, they certainly won't disappear to the back of the closet after one walk.
How to care for baby alpaca wrist warmers?
Luckily, washing is almost never necessary. Let the wrist warmers air out after wearing them. Alpaca hardly absorbs any odors and therefore easily freshens up by itself.
Is washing necessary after all? Then wash them carefully by hand or only use a wool wash program if the care label allows it. Use cold water or a maximum of 30 degrees and a small amount of special detergent for alpaca, such as Washpaca. Because alpaca wool naturally contains no lanolin, it is better not to use detergent with added lanolin.
Do not wring and do not put them in the dryer. Carefully press the water out of the wrist warmers, reshape them, and let them dry flat.
