Why these alpaca leg warmers are so great

They are made of 100% baby alpaca wool. And you can feel it immediately. Alpaca wool is warmer than sheep's wool, but much lighter in weight. And because this is baby alpaca, it doesn't itch. Really, it doesn't. Not even on bare skin. What I often hear in the shop: "They just feel luxurious, without any fuss."

Warm without pinching

Thanks to the ribbed structure, these leg warmers are extremely stretchy. Narrow calves, wide calves, over leggings or over tights – they adapt effortlessly. They are approximately 40 cm long and fit nicely without sliding down or feeling too tight. Ideal against drafts, especially with wide trousers or skirts.

How do you wear them?

Roll them up a bit above your ankles for a casual look, pull them up high under wide trousers, or wear them visibly over tights or leggings. They give every outfit that little bit of extra color and warmth. And yes: they are unisex, so also great for men with cold legs.

Sustainable and ethically made in Peru

De Colores works with three Fairtrade-certified workshops in Arequipa, in the south of Peru. There, the alpaca wool is processed locally into yarn and ultimately into these beautiful leg warmers. This keeps the value where the raw material comes from. That just feels better.

Washing? Better not

Alpaca wool is self-cleaning. Airing them out is usually more than enough. If you do need to wash them, use a special alpaca detergent such as Washpaca. That is gentle on the fiber and keeps them looking good. But let's be honest: often, washing is not necessary at all.
