Yes, that amazing IKAT print is back. And honestly: it might just look its best on this dress. TAALKE by TRANQUILLO is one of those dresses that is wonderfully easy to wear, but certainly doesn't look simple thanks to its print and smart pleats.
The dress is made of EcoVero™ twill with a soft peach finish and has a slightly fitted cut. There are pleats and elastic around the waist, which draws the fabric in beautifully without feeling tight. And – an important detail – it has pockets!
The IKAT print combines blue with raspberry, burgundy, pink, ochre, and warm earth tones. A quite colorful ensemble, then, but precisely because all those colors blend together, you can combine it with an incredible number of things.

What makes the TRANQUILLO TAALKE IKAT so special?
For us, it is mainly the combination of a very easy-to-wear dress with an anything-but-boring look.
If you take a close look at the design, you will see that TRANQUILLO has played cleverly with the fabric. Subtle pleats run upwards and downwards from the waist. Together with the elastic in the waist, this gives the dress shape, without it having to fit tightly around your belly or hips.
The top falls a bit looser and the shoulders are slightly dropped. This gives you that fine combination of feminine and relaxed.
How does the TRANQUILLO TAALKE dress fit?
TAALKE has a slightly fitted cut. The waist is beautifully defined by the elastic and pleats, while there remains sufficient room for movement around the belly and hips.
The dress is approximately 103 cm long in size S (36) and thus falls around the knee, depending on your height.

Why are those pleats so nice?
Because they do exactly what good pleats are supposed to do: provide shape without pulling tight.
You can see in the photos that the fabric is taken in very subtly from the waist. This creates a feminine silhouette, but you don't feel like you've been squeezed into a tight dress.
And that is precisely what makes TAALKE such a great dress for every day. Pretty enough for work or a dinner out, comfortable enough to just wear all day long.
What is EcoVero™?
EcoVero™ is a viscose fiber from Lenzing, made from wood sourced from controlled and certified sources. It was developed as an alternative to conventional viscose, with a production process that uses less water and energy.
But what do you notice about that when you put the dress on? Primarily that the fabric drapes fluidly, feels soft, and moves beautifully with you.
In the case of TAALKE, the EcoVero™ has been processed into a twill. As a result, the fabric has just a little more body and structure than a very thin viscose. That is actually nice for this model, because it ensures the pleats remain nicely visible.
What does the peach finish mean?
No, there are no peaches in your dress. The peach finish refers to the finishing of the fabric.
The surface has been treated so that it feels very subtly soft and almost a bit velvety – a bit like the skin of a peach. As a result, this EcoVero™ twill feels less slippery and a bit warmer than classic viscose.
And for an autumn and winter dress, we think that is absolutely wonderful.
How do you style the TAALKE IKAT in autumn and winter?
This is typically such a dress that you don't have to think about for long in the morning. Dress on, boots underneath, and you're actually ready.
If you want an extra layer, you have quite a lot of choice thanks to all the colors in the print:
- burgundy for a warm tone-on-tone combination;
- dark blue to bring out the blue background;
- raspberry or pink if you want to add plenty of color;
- ochre or rust for a warm autumn combination;
- or a dark cardigan if you want to make the whole look a bit calmer.
With thick tights and boots, you can easily wear it straight into winter. And on milder autumn days, the dress itself is actually enough.
Does the TAALKE dress have pockets?
YES. And not those symbolic little pockets that can only hold one and a half fingers.
TAALKE has practical slip pockets in the side seams. They blend beautifully into the design, so you barely see them until you put your hands in them. Exactly the way we like it.
How do you wash an EcoVero™ viscose dress?
Viscose requires a little bit of attention when washing. Wash TAALKE on a delicate cycle at a low temperature, inside out, and with similar colors. Use a mild detergent and do not overfill the drum.
Take the dress out of the machine immediately after washing, gently pull it back into shape, and let it air dry. Do not tumble dry.
Good to know: viscose fibers behave differently when wet. The dress may temporarily seem a bit stiffer or smaller right after washing. Don't panic. During drying, wearing, and possibly gentle ironing, the fluid shape will return.
Is the TAALKE IKAT suitable for a party?
Certainly. And that is exactly what is so fun about this model.
With flat boots or sneakers, TAALKE is a wonderful dress for every day. Put on some nice high boots, jewelry, and perhaps some heels, and you can just as easily go out for dinner or to a party.
Not too dressy, not too casual. Those are usually the very dresses that end up being taken out of the closet the most often.
Do not buy if…
…you believe that an autumn and winter wardrobe should consist exclusively of black, gray, and dark blue.
Because TAALKE clearly does not participate in that.
This is color in the middle of winter. Raspberry, pink, blue, ochre, burgundy: everything is welcome. And honestly, we can get quite happy about that on a gray November morning.
