Oh wow, this is a beauty. The LANIUS BIBI BLUE is one of those wool sweaters that instantly shows that warm and feminine can go hand in hand perfectly. Not your standard wool sweater with a round neck, but a beautiful crossover at the front with a deep V-neck. Elegant, a little bit sexy, and at the same time wonderfully soft and comfortable.
And then there's the quality: 90% pure merino wool and 10% cashmere. You really can feel that bit of cashmere. It makes the knit extra soft, supple, and luxurious. The intense blue color makes BIBI complete. Stunning with denim as seen in the photos, but at least as beautiful with black trousers or a skirt.

What makes the LANIUS BIBI BLUE so special?
Especially that crossover! The front overlaps diagonally, forming a beautiful V shape. This gives this women's wool sweater with a V-neck a much more feminine look than your average winter sweater.
The rest of the design is wonderfully relaxed. The shoulders are slightly dropped, the sleeves have some volume, and there is a wide hem at the bottom, which makes the sweater fall nicely at the hip. And take a good look at those sleeves: those long, fitted cuffs with that little ruffled edge... so cute. Exactly the kind of detail that makes BIBI just a little bit different.
Is the BIBI a wrap sweater?
The BIBI has the look of a wrap sweater: the front panels overlap and create that characteristic feminine crossover. So you don't have to fiddle with separate tie strings. You just pull it on like a sweater and you're good to go.
This gives you the elegant effect of a wrap model, but without having to constantly check if everything is still in place. We love it.
How does a sweater made of merino wool and cashmere feel?
Sooooft. Merino wool is already a much finer type of wool than many people expect when they hear the word 'wool', but adding 10% cashmere gives this sweater even more softness and a luxurious feel.
The combination of 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere also provides natural warmth without needing a thick, heavy sweater. Wool is breathable, moisture-wicking, and helps regulate your body temperature. Cashmere gives the knit that extra soft touch.
And yes: no polyester or acrylic trying to pass itself off as a nice warm knit. Here, you just get wool and cashmere.
How does the LANIUS BIBI BLUE fit?
The BIBI has a relaxed fit with some room around the body and sleeves. The wide hem at the bottom brings the model together nicely, so that despite the looser top, it absolutely does not look shapeless.
We love that exact combination: comfortable enough to walk around in all day, but simultaneously very feminine due to the V-neck and crossover.
We would generally recommend choosing your own size for this sweater. If you like a bit more room or if you are exactly between two sizes, you can go for the larger one.
What do you wear under a wool sweater with a deep V-neck?
That is entirely up to you. Wear BIBI directly on the skin if you like a deeper neckline, or let a nice camisole, T-shirt, or thin wool long-sleeve show underneath.
Also nice: combine it with a blouse for a totally different look. This allows you to style this blue wool sweater with crossover both very femininely and a bit more casually.
How do you combine the color BIBI BLUE?
This blue, though... fantastic. It is bright and intense, but at the same time deep enough to be very easy to combine. With blue jeans, you get a beautiful tone-on-tone combination like in the photos. With black, it becomes chicer, and with ecru, sand, or camel, the blue pops beautifully.
We also think it looks wonderful with a skirt. Because the hem falls nicely around the hip, you don't necessarily have to tuck the sweater into your skirt or trousers to keep your waist and shape.
Is merino wool with cashmere warm?
Yes, but in a very different way than a thick synthetic sweater. Merino wool is naturally insulating and temperature-regulating. It helps retain body heat when you need it, but the material stays breathable at the same time.
This makes BIBI wonderful for autumn and winter, but also perfect for chilly days in spring and autumn. And because the knit is not overly thick, you can easily wear a coat over it.
How do you wash a sweater made of merino wool and cashmere?
As little as possible! Wool and cashmere really aren't any happier if you put them in the washing machine after every wear. Hang your sweater out after wearing it, let it air out, and give the wool fibers a rest. Often that is already enough.
Does BIBI really need to be washed? Then use a suitable wool cycle or follow the washing instructions on the label and always use a special wool detergent. We recommend LANALICIOUS wool detergent with lanolin for this. Do not tumble dry, and after washing, carefully reshape it and let it dry lying flat.
Can merino wool with cashmere pill?
Yes. Especially with such a wonderfully soft knit, small bits of fluff or bobbles can form in the beginning in places with a lot of friction. That is a natural property of wool and cashmere and does not mean there is anything wrong with your sweater.
Care for it occasionally and gently with our Gleener lint remover. That will remove loose lint, and the surface of your sweater will look great for much longer.
Why do we get so happy about the LANIUS BIBI?
Because it has everything we want from a beautiful women's wool sweater, but doesn't look like a "standard wool sweater" at all. Pure merino wool, cashmere, no synthetic fibers, a fantastic color, and a feminine crossover.
And those little ruffles at the sleeves are, as far as we're concerned, the icing on the cake. BIBI is soft and cozy enough to curl up in, but nice enough to just wear out to dinner. So, wool really can be very feminine.
