KOMODO ERIN SUNSET jacket in organic cotton denim
A denim jacket, but without that standard denim jacket vibe. The ERIN by KOMODO is made from sturdy dark blue organic cotton denim and features a short, straight cut. The jacket is lightly quilted, providing more warmth than a regular unlined denim jacket, making it ideal as a transitional piece.
The name SUNSET is no coincidence. A striking pattern of contrasting stitching runs across the large front pockets and the back panel, as if the sun is just rising above the horizon. A beautiful detail that is best appreciated from the back. After all, why should only the front of a jacket look good?

Not an ordinary denim jacket
A classic denim jacket usually has chest pockets, a point collar, and a fairly fitted shape. ERIN takes a different approach. The jacket features a clean, collarless neckline, large front pockets, and a short, straight fit. This gives it a more modern look, making it easy to wear both as an outer layer and as an extra layer indoors.
The warm brown contrast stitching stands out beautifully against the deep blue denim. On the front pockets, the lines diverge diagonally, and on the back panel, they form a large rising sun. Subtle enough for frequent wear, unique enough not to look like every other denim jacket.
How does the KOMODO ERIN fit?
The ERIN has a short, straight, and slightly boxy cut. The jacket hits about at the hip and does not fit tightly around the waist. The shoulders and sleeves offer enough room to wear a blouse, long-sleeve, or a not-too-thick sweater underneath.
In principle, choose your usual size for the intended KOMODO fit. If you are between two sizes and would like to wear a thicker sweater under the jacket, you might consider the larger size. If you mainly wear ERIN over a thin shirt or blouse, your usual size will generally be fine.
How to style a short denim jacket?
Because of its short cut, ERIN looks great with high-waisted trousers or skirts. Pair it with wide brown trousers and a rust-colored turtleneck for a warm, retro-inspired look. Jeans work too, of course. Denim on denim is perfectly fine as long as you pull it off with confidence.
The dark blue also pairs beautifully with ecru, olive green, camel, rust, burgundy, and cobalt blue. Wear the jacket open so your sweater or blouse remains visible, or fasten the corozo buttons when it gets a bit chillier outside.
What are corozo buttons?
The buttons are made of corozo: a hard, plant-based material derived from the nut of the tagua palm. Corozo is durable and naturally features a beautiful, subtle texture. It is a great alternative to plastic buttons and fits well with the natural character of organic cotton denim.
Is the ERIN a real winter jacket?
ERIN is warmer than a standard unlined denim jacket, but it is not a thick, waterproof winter coat. Think of it primarily as a nice transitional piece for spring and autumn, mild winter days, or as an extra layer in a cold building.
On truly harsh days, you can wear it under a roomier coat, but keep the straight cut in mind. For heavy rain, snowstorms, or arctic expeditions, we would still suggest something else.
Organic cotton denim
The outer fabric is made of 100% organic cotton. No chemical fertilizers or synthetic pesticides forbidden in organic farming are used in the cultivation of organic cotton. The denim feels sturdy and will increasingly conform to your body with wear.
The jacket is made in a SEDEX-audited factory. SEDEX is a platform that allows companies to monitor and gain insight into working conditions and supply chains. This does not mean that clothing is produced entirely without impact, but it does signify a commitment to oversight and transparency within the production chain.
How to care for your KOMODO ERIN
Wash this jacket as little as possible. Often, airing it out is sufficient, and minor stains can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. According to KOMODO, you can wash the ERIN gently by hand. Eco-friendly professional dry cleaning is also an option and is recommended to best maintain the shape and quilted construction.
Always check the sewn-in care label before cleaning. Do not use bleach, do not wring the jacket out, and do not put it in the dryer. Let it dry slowly at room temperature and keep it away from hot radiators.
Frequently asked questions about the KOMODO ERIN
Is the ERIN made of 100% organic cotton?
The dark blue denim outer fabric is made of 100% organic cotton. We deliberately do not make claims regarding the composition of the lining and padding, as the available supplier information is not definitive.
Is the jacket long?
No. ERIN has a short cut and hits about at the hip, making it a great match for high-waisted trousers, skirts, and dresses.
Is the KOMODO ERIN waterproof?
No. It remains a cotton denim jacket and is not a technical raincoat. A light shower won't immediately be a disaster, but it is not the right model for prolonged rain.
Is there a similar men's jacket?
Yes, we have a similar KOMODO jacket in our collection for men. That model features the same rugged, modern look, but with a fit tailored to the men's collection.
Can the ERIN go in the washing machine?
We advise following the care label: wash gently by hand or have it professionally and eco-consciously cleaned. This is the best way to keep the jacket in shape.
