FRANKIE is made from dark blue denim. Both the outer fabric and the lining consist of 100% organic cotton. The jacket is quilted, features a classic shirt collar, and has a comfortably roomy fit. Overshirt or jacket?
In reality, FRANKIE sits exactly in between. The design features the collar and relaxed vibe of an overshirt, but it is lined, quilted, and sturdier than a standard shirt. This makes it perfect to wear as a jacket during the spring and autumn. In winter, it works well on milder days or as an extra layer under a roomier outer coat.
The horizontal stitching provides structure to the jacket without turning it into a sporty puffer. So, you get the extra comfort and warmth while maintaining that calm denim look. Useful if you like wearing a jacket that works with both sneakers and sturdy leather shoes.
How does the KOMODO FRANKIE fit?

FRANKIE is longer than the women’s ERIN model and has a distinct men's cut. It is not a short, tight denim jacket, but a practical overshirt model that actually allows you to move your arms. Always a plus for things like cycling, working, and expressive gesturing.
The SUNSET detail on the back
From the front, FRANKIE looks calm and rugged, but the back panel features something extra. Contrasting lines rise from the bottom hem like sunbeams, together forming a stylized rising sun.
The stitching is subtle enough to wear the jacket frequently, but it makes FRANKIE much more interesting than a completely plain denim jacket. Plus, you see the detail most clearly when you walk away. We personally encourage a slightly dramatic exit.
Practical pockets and zipper
On the front, there are two spacious pockets with a flap and snap button. You can store small items in them, but thanks to the side openings, you can also easily slip your hands inside. It sounds like a small detail, until you wear a jacket that doesn't have them and suddenly don't know where to put your hands.
The zipper runs down the center front, making the jacket easy to open and close. Wear it closed when it's chilly, or leave it open over a shirt or sweater for a more relaxed layered look.

The jacket is vegan and made in a SEDEX-audited factory. SEDEX is a platform that allows companies to monitor working conditions and supply chains to make them more transparent. While not a guarantee that a garment is produced with zero impact, it does contribute to greater transparency and oversight within the production chain.
Is FRANKIE a true winter coat?
FRANKIE is lined and quilted, offering more warmth than a standard denim overshirt. It is particularly suitable for the Dutch spring and autumn. You can also wear it on mild winter days, especially with a warm sweater underneath.
However, it is not a technical winter coat and it is not waterproof. For prolonged rain, strong winds, or temperatures where even your bicycle looks offended by the cold, we would choose a heavier coat.
How to care for the KOMODO FRANKIE
Wash the jacket as little as possible. Letting it air out or spot-cleaning minor stains is often sufficient. According to KOMODO, you can hand-wash FRANKIE cold or have it professionally and eco-consciously cleaned. The latter helps to maintain the shape and quilted construction as well as possible.
Always check the sewn-in care label before cleaning. Do not use bleach, do not wring the jacket, and do not put it in the dryer. Carefully reshape after washing and let it air dry.
