KOMODO organic cotton corduroy overshirt KARDA KHAKI
A shirt, a jacket, and a good dose of good old-fashioned corduroy all in one. The KARDA overshirt by KOMODO is made from 100% organic cotton corduroy. The deep khaki color, wide rib structure, and rust-brown details at the elbows give this overshirt just the right amount of character. Rugged, but not loud. And above all, very easy to combine.
KARDA has a relaxed fit and runs relatively large. You can wear it open over a T-shirt, shirt, or thin sweater, but of course, it can also just be buttoned up. Ideal for days when a shirt is too thin and a real jacket feels way too enthusiastic.

An overshirt for almost every season
An overshirt sits exactly between a shirt and a light jacket. KARDA is sturdier and warmer than a standard cotton shirt, but it is not lined or as heavy as a winter coat. That makes it incredibly versatile.
In spring and autumn, you can wear it as an outer layer over a T-shirt or thin sweater. In winter, it works very well as an extra layer under a jacket. And on a fresh summer evening, you just throw it open over whatever you were already wearing. It's the kind of garment that can go over something, under something, and usually stays within reach.
How does the KARDA overshirt fit?
KARDA has a relaxed fit and runs relatively large. Simply choose your usual size if you want to wear the overshirt loosely and keep enough room for an extra layer underneath.
The good-looking guy in our photos is 189 cm tall and wears a size XL. XL is his usual size, and on this model, it is clearly roomy and relaxed. In the photo, he is even wearing a shirt underneath without KARDA feeling tight.
Do you prefer to wear the overshirt less roomy and are you between two sizes? Then you can opt for the smaller size. Keep in mind what you want to wear underneath, however. You need less space over a T-shirt than over a thick sweater. Are you in doubt? Feel free to give us a call or come by to try it on. That will prevent you from ending up in a very "relaxed" amount of corduroy.
Khaki corduroy with special details
KHAKI on this overshirt is a deep, dark green-brown shade. Subtle enough to be easily combined, but warmer and more interesting than standard black or dark blue. The corduroy rib structure also means the color changes slightly with the light. Sometimes it looks greener, sometimes a bit browner.
The rust-brown corduroy inserts at the elbows provide a nice contrast. You can also see that detail when you roll up the sleeves slightly. The double chest pockets with flaps give KARDA the look of a classic work shirt, while the supple fabric and spacious fit ensure it feels anything but stiff.
From sturdy to increasingly supple
Corduroy is known for its soft, raised ridges in the fabric. The material feels sturdy but becomes increasingly supple with wear. At the same time, the distinct rib structure remains beautifully visible.
Because KARDA is made of cotton, the material breathes better than many synthetic alternatives. It is not a thin summer shirt, but it is also not a heavy winter jacket. It is precisely that middle ground that makes this overshirt so useful.
Combine KARDA with the matching WAYNE trousers
Want a complete corduroy set? We also have the KOMODO WAYNE trousers in the same KHAKI color in our collection. Together, KARDA and WAYNE form a rugged, almost suit-like ensemble, but without making you look like you're on your way to a meeting no one wants to attend.
Do you think a full corduroy suit is a bit too much? Understandable. In that case, wear KARDA with denim, black trousers, or trousers in sand, rust, or dark blue. You can, of course, also wear the matching WAYNE trousers separately with a simple T-shirt, a shirt, or a chunky knit sweater.
Organic cotton and vegan
KARDA is made of 100% organic cotton and is completely vegan. The overshirt is produced in a SEDEX-audited factory. SEDEX is a system used to monitor working conditions, health, safety, and business operations within the supply chain, among other things.
Organic cotton also has an impact, of course: it requires raw materials, energy, transport, and labor to turn it into a garment. For us, the value lies not just in the material, but in a sturdy and timeless design that you can wear often and combine easily.
How to keep corduroy looking good
Wash KARDA only when it is really necessary. An overshirt that is worn over other clothing can usually be aired out for a while first. Does it need to be washed? Turn it inside out, close the buttons, and choose a gentle wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees. Use a small amount of mild detergent and wash with similar dark colors.
Take the overshirt out of the machine immediately afterwards, shake it out gently, and pull it into shape. Let KARDA air dry and prefer not to put it in the dryer. This way, the fit, color, and rib structure remain beautiful for longer.
Do you want to iron the overshirt? Do so inside out and at a low temperature. Do not press the iron hard onto the ribs, as you might flatten the soft texture. Often, hanging it out is sufficient. Always check the sewn-in wash label for certainty.
Frequently asked questions about KARDA
How does the KARDA overshirt fit?
KARDA has a relaxed fit and runs relatively large. Choose your usual size for the loose fit shown in the photo. If you are between two sizes and want to wear it less roomy, you can consider the smaller size.
What size is the model wearing?
The good-looking guy in our photos is 189 cm tall and wears a size XL. This is his usual size. For KARDA, size XL fits roomy and relaxed, with plenty of room for a shirt or thin sweater underneath.
Is KARDA a jacket or a shirt?
It is an overshirt: sturdier than a normal shirt, but lighter than a lined jacket. You can wear it buttoned as a sturdy shirt or open as a light jacket.
Is the overshirt lined?
No, KARDA is not lined. This keeps it breathable and allows you to easily use it as a middle layer.
Which trousers go with the overshirt?
The KOMODO WAYNE trousers in KHAKI were made to be worn with KARDA. The same color and the same corduroy look: together a complete set, but both garments are also very easy to combine separately.
Is KARDA suitable for winter?
As a standalone outdoor jacket, it is most suitable for milder weather. In winter, you wear KARDA as a warm extra layer under your coat. For real freezing temperatures, we would still put something over it. Looking tough is fun, blue lips, not so much.
Does corduroy become more supple with wear?
Yes. Organic cotton corduroy can feel a bit stiffer at first, but it gradually becomes more supple with wear. The characteristic rib structure remains visible throughout.
