All about this product

GIVN wool bomber jacket DAVID DARK BLUE made of merino and organic cotton

This is one of those jackets that you put on and then never want to take off. The GIVN DAVID DARK BLUE has the rugged design of a classic bomber jacket, but is made from a soft blend of 72% merino wool and 28% organic cotton. Warm and comfortable, without making you feel like you are heading out on a polar expedition.

DARK BLUE is a very deep dark blue color that sometimes looks almost black. This makes DAVID truly versatile: it pairs with everything from smart trousers to jeans and from a shirt to your favorite wool sweater.

Why this wool bomber jacket is so great

  • 72% merino wool and 28% organic cotton
  • Soft, warm wool blend
  • The merino wool is 100% mulesing-free
  • The organic cotton is GOTS-certified
  • Classic bomber model with collar
  • Metal zipper
  • Two spacious side pockets
  • Ribbed cuffs at the sleeves and hem
  • Deep dark blue color
  • Produced under fair-trade conditions

The warmth of wool, with cotton added

The majority of DAVID consists of merino wool. Wool retains heat, but can also absorb and release moisture. This helps the material regulate your body temperature and makes it feel less clammy than many synthetic fabrics.

The organic cotton makes the fabric a bit sturdier and gives the jacket its beautiful, compact shape. Together, the materials form a soft and wearable blend that is comfortable during crisp autumn and spring days. On colder days, you can combine DAVID with a warm sweater or wear it under a roomier winter coat.

Mulesing-free merino wool

All the merino wool in this bomber jacket is mulesing-free. Mulesing is a painful procedure sometimes performed on merino sheep to prevent problems with fly larvae. This treatment was not used for the wool in DAVID.

What about the GOTS certification?

We like to be clear about that. The organic cotton in this jacket is GOTS-certified. The merino wool is completely mulesing-free, but not organically certified. Because DAVID is a blend of these two materials, the complete bomber jacket itself is not GOTS-certified.

The jacket was, however, produced under GOTS conditions and is fair-trade. This way, we can tell you exactly what is certified without sticking a label on the entire product that doesn't officially belong there. Only fair.

How does the GIVN DAVID fit?

DAVID has a relaxed bomber fit with plenty of room to wear a sweater or shirt underneath. The elastic cuffs at the sleeves and hem give the jacket its characteristic round shape. The collar makes it look a bit dressier than a bomber with a sporty ribbed collar.

How to care for a merino wool jacket

Fortunately, you don't have to wash wool after every wear. Hang DAVID outside to air out regularly and spot-treat small stains. Is a full wash necessary? Always follow the care label, use a suitable wool detergent, and avoid fabric softener and the dryer. Let the jacket dry in its original shape, away from a warm radiator.

Wol & katoen mix is bijzonder

And just like that, you were gone!

Wassen
