KnowledgeCotton Apparel CAS BLUE striped organic cotton shirt
A blue shirt is always handy. But a blue shirt with just a little more character is even handier. The CAS BLUE by KnowledgeCotton Apparel features a subtle tone-on-tone striped pattern and a tactile texture. Calm enough to wear with anything, but definitely not boring.
This men's shirt is made of 100% organic cotton and is GOTS-certified. It has a regular fit, a classic collar, long sleeves, and a full button placket. On the chest, there is a patch pocket where the stripe is applied diagonally. It’s that kind of small detail that makes us immediately happy.

Not just an ordinary blue shirt
At first glance, the CAS looks like a calm blue shirt. If you look a little closer, you will see the fine vertical stripes and the structure in the fabric. The different shades of blue are close to each other, so the pattern doesn't become busy but does provide depth.
The fabric catches the light differently each time. As a result, the shirt sometimes looks bright blue and other times a bit darker. That makes it more interesting than a smooth, solid-colored shirt, while you can still combine it just as easily.
In other words: special, but without complicated instructions. Sometimes that's exactly what a wardrobe needs.
Regular fit with plenty of room to move
The CAS has a regular fit. It falls neatly along the body but is not tightly tailored. There remains plenty of room at the chest, waist, shoulders, and arms to move naturally. That’s also quite nice if you plan to do more than just stand decoratively by a coffee machine.
In principle, choose your usual size. Are you in doubt between two sizes, do you have broad shoulders, or do you prefer wearing shirts a bit looser? Then we would try the larger size. If you mainly want to wear it open over a T-shirt, the fit can naturally be a bit roomier.
The shirt has a neat length and can be worn both loose over trousers or tucked in. In the photos, you can see that it falls nicely over the hip without being overly long.
The chest pocket has a cheeky touch
There is a practical patch pocket on the left chest. The stripes run diagonally here instead of vertically. This makes the chest pocket stand out subtly, without the need for a large logo or other busy decorations.
It’s a small design detail, but those are exactly the types of details that make a simple piece of clothing more interesting. And yes, you can actually put something in it. Glasses, a shopping list, or a pen, for example. We would spare the fabric and shape from a complete bunch of keys.
From jeans to dress trousers
The CAS BLUE is the type of shirt that doesn't argue with the rest of your wardrobe. Dark and light jeans both work, just like black, grey, beige, or brown chinos. It also looks great under the dark blue corduroy jacket JURGEN: different textures and shades of blue together, without it becoming a uniform.
Wear it buttoned up for a smart outfit or leave the top buttons open for a looser look. For a casual combination, you can also wear it completely open over a white, grey, or dark blue T-shirt.
When it gets colder, the CAS fits easily under a wool sweater, cardigan, or vest. Leave the collar and possibly a piece of the cuffs visible. This gives a simple winter outfit a bit more depth immediately.
100% organic cotton
The shirt is made entirely of organic cotton. Stricter rules regarding the use of harmful pesticides and fertilizers apply to the cultivation of organic cotton compared to conventional cotton farming. This is better for the soil, the environment, and the people who work with the cotton.
Cotton breathes, feels familiar on the skin, and can be worn across different seasons. The subtle texture gives the fabric more character, while the shirt remains comfortable and supple enough for everyday use.
What does GOTS-certified mean?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. This certification looks not only at the organic origin of the cotton fiber but also sets requirements for the further processing of the textile. This includes looking at the use of chemicals, environmental impact, and social conditions within the production chain.
Of course, this does not mean that making clothing has no impact at all. Every garment requires raw materials, water, energy, and transport. The biggest gain therefore remains: choose something you actually wear, take good care of it, and keep it in your wardrobe for a long time. With a timeless blue shirt, you are usually quite safe in that regard.
A shirt for almost every day
The CAS can be smart, but it doesn't feel stiff or overly business-like. This makes it just as easy to wear during a workday as on the weekend. With dress trousers and shoes, you are ready for an appointment or a dinner. With jeans and sneakers, the same shirt becomes much more relaxed.
The blue color and subtle stripe are timeless enough to last for several seasons. It’s not a shirt that disappears to the back of the closet after one striking outfit, but one you put on on a Monday morning when you don't feel like thinking too long. Those are often the best pieces of clothing.
How to care for the cotton shirt
Wash the CAS only when strictly necessary. Does the shirt have no stains and does it still smell fresh? Then let it air out well first. Washing less often helps to keep the color, the fibers, and the fit beautiful for longer.
Wash the shirt inside out, with similar colors and according to the instructions on the wash label. A cotton program at 30 degrees is usually sufficient for normally worn clothing. Do not use more detergent than necessary and preferably avoid the dryer. High temperatures can cause cotton to shrink and make the color fade faster.
Hang the shirt neatly after washing and shape the collar, button placket, and cuffs. Do you want to iron it? That is often easiest when the fabric is still slightly damp. Always follow the wash label for the correct temperature.
Frequently asked questions about shirt CAS BLUE
What is the shirt made of?
The CAS BLUE is made of 100% organic cotton and is GOTS-certified.
How does this model fit?
The shirt has a regular fit. It fits normally and offers plenty of room to move without being very wide. In principle, choose your usual size.
Is the shirt solid or striped?
The CAS has a subtle vertical stripe in different shades of blue. Because the colors are close to each other, the shirt looks calm and almost tone-on-tone.
Does the fabric have texture?
Yes, the cotton fabric has a visible and tactile structure. This gives the shirt more depth than a smooth-woven blouse.
Can I also wear it open?
Certainly. Wear it open over a solid T-shirt for a casual outfit or button it up for a somewhat neater look.
Can the shirt go in the dryer?
We recommend letting it air dry. This is kinder to the cotton, the color, and the fit. Always check the wash label for the official washing instructions.
