ENGEL Natur wool-silk boxer briefs with lace for women
Wool underwear might sound primarily practical, but these black wool-silk boxer briefs from ENGEL Natur show that practical can also be beautiful. The style sits high over your belly and lower back, has short legs, and is finished along the leg openings with a delicate lace trim. This provides the warmth and softness of wool-silk without the underwear looking heavy or old-fashioned.
The main fabric consists of 70% organic merino wool and 30% silk. This fine ribbed quality is thin, soft, and stretchy, feeling pleasant directly against the skin. The black lace trim consists of 90% polyamide and 10% elastane. There is elastic in the waistband so the boxer briefs stay securely in place.

A high-rise boxer for extra coverage
These women's boxer briefs sit significantly higher than a low-rise brief or a small hipster. The wool-silk fabric runs over your belly and also covers part of your lower back. This makes it a great style if you prefer more coverage, get cold easily around your waist, or find that low-rise briefs keep creeping down under your clothes.
Personally, I find such a high, soft style very pleasant during my period. Not because wool underwear can solve any ailments, but simply because a warm and comfortable layer around your belly can feel pleasant during that time. The boxer briefs are thin enough to wear under your regular clothing, and the short legs help keep the style nicely in place.
Under very tight or thin clothing, the legs and the lace trim might be slightly visible. If you are looking for as few seams as possible under fitted clothing, a regular wool-silk brief might be more practical. Why wool and silk are pleasant as underwear
Wool helps retain heat, but can also absorb moisture without immediately feeling clammy. Silk makes the fabric smoother, more supple, and lighter. As a result, wool-silk generally feels softer and less warm than 100% wool. It is a great choice if you want to wear natural fibers directly on your skin but find thick wool underwear a bit too much of a good thing.
The main fabric contains no polyester. Only the lace trim and the elastic contain synthetic fibers; these are necessary to make the finish stretchy and ensure it fits well. We think it is important to clearly state this, because for this model, ‘wool-silk underwear’ does not mean that literally every component consists exclusively of wool and silk.
Wool naturally retains odors less than many other fibers. For a camisole or long-sleeved shirt, airing it out is often enough. For underwear, that is naturally different: you simply wash them regularly. You do not need to wear a cotton panty underneath; these boxer briefs are intended to be worn directly against the skin.
Fit and sizing advice
The boxer briefs fit snugly around your belly, bottom, and upper thighs. The fabric is supple and stretchy, but the leg openings should not pinch or roll up. If you are between two sizes, have fuller upper thighs, or prefer your underwear to be slightly less tight, choose the larger size.
When choosing, use your waist and hip measurements as a guide. Measure without pulling the tape measure tight and compare your measurements with the official ENGEL Natur women's size chart.

How to wash these wool boxer briefs with lace
Wash the boxer briefs on a wool cycle at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a low spin speed and a suitable wool detergent with lanolin. Do not use regular detergent, bleach, or fabric softener. These can damage the wool fibers and the elastic lace.
Do not wring and do not tumble dry. After washing, gently pull the boxer briefs back into shape and let them dry flat. Avoid heaters and other direct heat. This will keep both the wool-silk fabric and the lace trim looking beautiful for the longest time.
