GREEN is a deep, dark forest green color. Due to the fine rib structure, the fabric catches the light differently, making the color sometimes look almost black and then clearly green again. Calm enough to wear often, but a lot more interesting than yet another standard blue shirt.

Shirt and light overshirt in one
The VARBERG sits right between a classic shirt and a thin overshirt. Buttoned up with chinos or dress pants, it looks neat. Open over a T-shirt or longsleeve, it gets a looser, more casual look.
The fine corduroy provides a bit more firmness and warmth than a smooth cotton shirt, but is not as heavy as a lined jacket. This makes the VARBERG pleasant during spring and autumn and ideal as an extra layer during colder months.
Wear it under a coat when it's cold outside or use it indoors as a light cardigan. Garments that have multiple functions at once always get a head start with us.
Fine 14-wale corduroy
The term “14 wale” refers to the number of ridges per inch. The higher this number, the finer the rib structure. The VARBERG therefore has a more refined look than classic, very coarse corduroy.
The ridges give the fabric structure and a soft appearance. When you move, the light hits the cotton pile differently. This gives the dark green color more depth and makes the shirt seem to change tint slightly from different angles.
100% organic cotton, no stretch
The shirt is made entirely of organic cotton. No polyester or elastane has been added to the corduroy. The fabric may become slightly more supple during wear, but has no real stretch.
That natural cotton feels firm and breathable. Because the material does not stretch artificially, it is important that there is enough room left at the chest, shoulders, and arms. Do you want to wear the VARBERG mainly as an overshirt with a thicker layer underneath? Then compare the dimensions carefully or choose a size larger if necessary.
Classic details with room for movement
On the front, there is one spacious chest pocket. The full button placket and classic collar keep the design calm and timeless. The sleeves end in cuffs that you fasten with a button.
On the back, the shirt has a yoke with a box pleat in the middle. That pleat gives extra room when you move your arms. The hem is rounded and falls slightly longer at the back, as with a classic shirt.
As a result, you can wear the VARBERG loose over trousers as well as partially or completely tucked in. The rib structure then does the interesting work. You just have to decide how many buttons to close today.
Fit and sizing advice
VARBERG has a regular fit: straight and comfortable, without being extremely loose or oversized. The studio model is 183 cm tall and wears size M.
Choose your usual size if you want to wear the style mainly buttoned up as a shirt. Do you want to regularly wear a thicker longsleeve or thin sweater underneath, or are you between two sizes? Then the larger size might be more comfortable.

The sizes in this table are the dimensions of the garment itself, not the body. The chest size is the full circumference. Sleeve length, shoulder width, and front length are measured flat on the shirt.
For the best sizing advice, lay a well-fitting shirt flat and compare the sizes. Keep in mind some extra room for movement in the chest circumference and for the clothes you might want to wear underneath.
GREEN: dark, calm, and versatile
The color GREEN is a deep forest green shade. In low light, it can appear almost black; in daylight, the green becomes clearer. This makes the shirt surprisingly easy to combine.
Wear it with dark blue, black, denim, beige, ecru, or brown. The warm texture of corduroy also looks great with rust, mustard yellow, and wine red. With the DEDICATED RYDA GREEN, you can create a distinct tone-on-tone corduroy combination. For those who think one corduroy garment at a time is enough, it naturally looks excellent with regular jeans as well.
What does GOTS-certified mean?
The organic cotton of the VARBERG is GOTS-certified. GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and sets requirements for the organic origin of fibers, the processing of the material, and social criteria within the production chain.
Even a GOTS-certified garment naturally has an impact: cotton must be grown, dyed, processed, and transported. The certification does ensure independent requirements and control within the chain. "Organic" is therefore more than just a green word on a hangtag here.
How to keep corduroy beautiful
Wash the shirt inside out and button the buttons before washing. Use a small amount of mild detergent and choose a gentle program at the temperature indicated on the care label. Wash the VARBERG with similar dark colors.
Do not overfill the drum. A lot of friction can flatten the corduroy pile. Remove the shirt from the machine immediately afterward, shake it out gently, and hang it to dry neatly.
Avoid the tumble dryer: heat can cause organic cotton to shrink and affect the rib structure. If you want to iron the shirt, do so inside out at a low to medium temperature. Do not press hard on the ridges. With a little steam and a soft clothing brush, you can refresh the pile.
Normal wear and tear of corduroy
With corduroy, the pile can become slightly flatter or lighter over time in areas with a lot of friction. Think of the elbows, cuffs, collar, and places where a bag strap is constantly moving over it.
That is a natural property of corduroy and is part of the way the material ages. Alternate wearing the shirt, wash it only when necessary, and let it air out in between. This will keep the structure beautiful for longer.
