KnowledgeCotton Apparel corduroy blazer JURGEN NIGHT made of organic cotton
A blazer, but without all that stiff fuss. The JURGEN NIGHT from KnowledgeCotton Apparel is made of soft organic cotton corduroy and features a relaxed fit. This makes it look polished, yet feel much more like a comfortable jacket.
The dark blue color NIGHT, the classic lapel collar, and the three-button closure give it the look of a traditional blazer. The visible rib structure and three patch pockets, however, make it feel a bit more laid-back and modern. Wear it over a shirt when you need to look neat, or combine it with a T-shirt and jeans when you’re just in the mood for a good outfit.

Polished, without being overly formal
There are days when a regular cardigan feels a bit too casual, but a classic blazer feels far too formal. That is exactly where the JURGEN comes in handy. The lapel collar and button closure ensure a tidy look, while the soft corduroy prevents you from looking like you are about to chair a quarterly meeting.
The blazer is understated and features a timeless design. This makes it easy to combine and wear for all kinds of occasions: to work, during a dinner, at a birthday party, or simply when your jeans need some company.
Soft organic cotton corduroy
Corduroy, also known as ribbed velvet, is recognizable by the vertical ribs in the fabric. This structure gives the JURGEN more depth than a smooth cotton jacket. Depending on how the light hits it, the dark blue color becomes a bit lighter or almost black. That vibrancy is part of corduroy and is exactly what makes the fabric so beautiful.
The organic cotton feels soft and comfortable. Because it is a cotton jacket, it wears less stiffly than many traditional blazers. You can simply move your arms, put your hands in your pockets, and still be able to breathe normally at the end of the evening. We don't consider that an excessive luxury.
Stricter rules regarding the use of harmful pesticides and fertilizers apply to the cultivation of organic cotton compared to conventional cotton farming. That makes the material a more conscious choice, especially if you wear the jacket often and take good care of it.
Relaxed fit with a polished shape
The JURGEN has a relaxed fit. It is therefore a bit looser than a tightly tailored blazer and offers enough room to wear a shirt, long-sleeved top, or thin sweater underneath. The shoulders and sleeves remain neatly shaped, ensuring the blazer doesn't look shapeless.
In principle, choose your usual size for the intended relaxed fit. Are you between two sizes and do you mainly want to wear the jacket over a thicker sweater? Then choose the larger one. If you mainly wear it indoors over a T-shirt or a thin shirt and you prefer a slightly closer fit, you can also try the smaller size.
In the photos, you can see that the blazer falls over the hips. It is long enough to wear nicely over a shirt, but not so long that it immediately becomes a very formal blazer.
Three patch pockets
On the front, there are three spacious, patch pockets: one chest pocket and two lower side pockets. These visible pockets reinforce the casual character of the blazer and are simply practical. Your phone, keys, or reading glasses can come along without you immediately needing a bag.
Although we wouldn't stuff all the pockets at once. A phone, key ring, wallet, banana, and half a toolbox do little good for the shape of any jacket.
The color NIGHT
NIGHT is a deep dark blue color that sometimes appears almost black. Softer than black, but just as easy to combine. The color pairs nicely with denim, gray, beige, sand, rust, green, and all kinds of brown tones.
The structure of the corduroy gives NIGHT more depth. The raised ribs catch the light differently than the sections of fabric in between. This means the blazer never looks completely flat, even though the color is calm.
How to style the corduroy blazer
For an easy everyday outfit, wear the JURGEN over a plain T-shirt with jeans and sneakers. Do you want a bit more color? Then a plaid shirt looks great underneath. In the photo, you can see exactly why that combination works: the calm, dark blue blazer provides a nice frame for a busier shirt.
If you need to look neater, combine it with a solid-colored shirt, chinos, and leather shoes. A thin turtleneck or merino sweater also looks great underneath. This allows you to keep wearing it across different seasons.
You can button the three buttons for a polished look, but worn open, the relaxed shape is best showcased. Better not roll up the sleeves: corduroy is somewhat sturdier than regular shirt fabric and looks best when you just leave the cuffs where they are meant to be.
Jacket, blazer, or transitional piece?
Actually, a bit of everything. Indoors, the JURGEN functions as a comfortable alternative to a classic blazer. During mild autumn and spring days, you can also wear it as a light outdoor jacket.
It is not intended for strong winds, heavy rain, or true winter cold. It remains a cotton blazer and not a technical winter coat. But for cooler days when a heavy coat feels like overkill, it is very pleasant.
How to care for corduroy
Corduroy doesn't need to be washed after every wear. Hang the jacket up after use and let it air out well. You can carefully remove dust and light lint with a clothes brush. When doing so, brush in the direction of the ribs.
Always follow the wash label inside the jacket. If washing at home is permitted, turn the blazer inside out, empty the pockets, and use a mild cycle at a low temperature. Wash it with similar dark colors and avoid the dryer. Too much heat can shrink the cotton and flatten the corduroy structure.
After washing, let the jacket dry in shape on a sturdy, wide clothes hanger. It is better not to iron directly over the ribs with a hot iron. If wrinkles need to be removed, carefully use steam or iron the garment on the inside according to the instructions on the label.
