A sweater that actually looks good

A sweater with a zipper—often called a troyer—is originally mainly a practical garment. The high collar protects you against the cold, and the zipper lets you decide how much fresh air you let in. Closed completely on cold days, partially open when you come inside, or generously open if you want to let the collar fall looser.

With TANJA, that practical basis remains, but in a beautiful aubergine shade and a fine knit that makes it much more elegant than the average sturdy fisherman's sweater. Warm enough for a brisk walk and beautiful enough to just sit down at the table afterwards.

Fit and length

TANJA runs quite long. That is nice if you like wearing a sweater that falls well over the hips and keeps your lower back nice and warm. I am wearing size L in the photos.

Would you rather wear it a bit shorter? Fold the bottom hem inwards. This creates a looser, slightly blousier shape that falls around the hip. You basically get two ways to wear one sweater, without needing a sewing machine or a complicated styling course.

Why alpaca is so nice

Alpaca wool is known for its excellent heat insulation. The fibers retain a lot of heat, while the knit remains relatively light. As a result, TANJA feels cozy without you immediately feeling like you've put on a whole winter blanket.

Alpaca naturally contains no lanolin. That can be nice for people who are sensitive or allergic to lanolin, although every skin is of course different. Whether you experience wool as soft or itchy is personal. Are you very sensitive? Then we recommend coming to try the sweater on or wearing a thin undershirt beneath it.

How to care for a 100% alpaca sweater

Only wash your alpaca sweater when absolutely necessary. Often, airing it out gently is enough. Always follow the wash label before washing and use a cold or suitable wool wash program with little movement.

We recommend Washpaca, special detergent for alpaca without lanolin. Do not use fabric softener, do not wring out the sweater, and do not put it in the dryer. Gently reshape TANJA after washing and let it dry flat. Preferably store the sweater folded, so the knit does not stretch out on a hanger.
