The AIKUSS ZIGZAG JEANS is made of 100% pure baby alpaca. Light, soft, and wonderfully warm, with a distinctive zigzag pattern in denim blue, gray, green, purple, natural tones, and warm earth tones. The design is reminiscent of landscapes, mountains, clouds, water, and the rich textile traditions of Peru. That is exactly what makes AIKUSS so beautiful.

Inspired by the landscape of the Peruvian Andes
In the pattern of the ZIGZAG JEANS, you always see something different. The wavy lines can evoke images of mountain ridges, flowing water, clouds, or layers in a landscape. The combination of denim blue, green, gray, purple, natural, and warm brown tones makes the design colorful, yet tranquil.
This is not a loud statement sweater trying to outshine the rest of your wardrobe. The colors are beautifully coordinated. From a distance, the pattern forms a cohesive whole; up close, you keep discovering new shades and small details.
How does the AIKUSS ZIGZAG fit?
The sweater has a slim, straight fit and falls nicely along the body. The style is not oversized, but it is not tight either. In principle, choose your usual size. Are you between sizes or do you prefer your sweaters a bit looser? Then choose the larger size.
I am wearing size M in the photo. In this size, the sweater fits me neatly, with enough room to move comfortably. According to AIKUSS, the length of size M is approximately 63.5 cm.

What is baby alpaca?
Baby alpaca does not automatically mean the fiber comes from a young alpaca. The name primarily refers to the fine, soft quality of the fibers. Baby alpaca feels smoother and softer than many coarser wool types and has a light, natural sheen.
Alpaca fibers retain heat well but are much lighter than you would expect from such a warm sweater. Furthermore, alpaca is naturally free of lanolin. This can be pleasant if you are sensitive to sheep's wool, although every skin is, of course, different.
The story behind AIKUSS
AIKUSS is inspired by the landscapes and rich knitting culture of Peru. The brand was founded by Peruvian Ana Fernández and combines traditional influences with wearable, modern designs.
We discovered AIKUSS during our buying trip, at the very end of the day. No massive booth or smooth sales pitch, but a small corner, beautiful sweaters, and a woman who spoke about her brand with so much love. Those are exactly the stories we like to make space for.
AIKUSS is woman-owned, works according to fairtrade principles, and has its collection made in Peru. Natur-el became the brand's first Dutch customer and is currently the only store in the Netherlands where you can buy AIKUSS. Quite special. And yes, we are secretly quite proud of that.
How to style ZIGZAG JEANS
The name says it all: this sweater was made for denim. On dark blue jeans, the colors in the pattern come together beautifully. But ZIGZAG JEANS also looks lovely with olive green, gray, brown, natural tones, or a quiet wool dress pant.
Because the pattern already has so much color and character, the rest of your outfit doesn't need to be complicated. A good pair of trousers, nice shoes, and you're ready to go. It will look like you put in a lot of effort, while the sweater does all the work for you.
You almost never have to wash an alpaca sweater
Alpaca does not easily absorb odors. Therefore, just let the sweater air out for a night after wearing it. Outside in the fresh air or inside by an open window is usually sufficient. Washing is only truly necessary when the sweater is visibly dirty.
Does it need to be washed after all? Wash your ZIGZAG carefully by hand in cold water. Use a small amount of special detergent without lanolin, such as our Washpaca detergent for alpaca. Do not rub, do not wring, and never tumble dry.
Gently squeeze the water out of the sweater, reshape it, and lay it flat to dry on a towel. Store it folded afterward. Due to its own weight, a knitted alpaca sweater can stretch if kept on a clothes hanger.
Pilling in alpaca
Alpaca can also pill due to friction. Loose fibers may become visible, especially under the arms, along the sides, and in areas where a bag or coat rubs against it. This is a natural characteristic of the fiber and not a manufacturing defect.
Do not pull pills off with your fingers, as you might pull new fibers out of the knit. If necessary, use a suitable pill comb carefully and apply very little pressure.
Honest advice
Are you looking for a thick, heavy, and very loose sweater? Then ZIGZAG is probably not what you are looking for. This style is lightweight, finely knit, and has a slightly slimmer fit.
Do you want a soft, warm alpaca sweater with a distinct yet wearable pattern and a special story from Peru? Then this is truly one to be very happy with for years to come.
