wens-kaart-summer-evening-a6-van-illu-ster
Greeting card SUMMER EVENING A6 by illu-ster

Illu-ster Summer Evening: a little bedtime story on a card

Sometimes you don't need big words. Sometimes a card with a greenhouse under the moon, a curious owl in the tree, and a little fox in the grass is exactly enough. This postcard by Illu-ster is called Summer Evening and feels like one of those sultry summer evenings when everything becomes a little quieter. The sky turns dark blue, the garden smells of greenery, and somewhere something small happens that makes you invent a story of your own.

And that is precisely the power of the illustrations by Saskia Heijmans, the creator behind Illu-ster. Her cards are not standard "congratulations and done" cards. They are little picture stories. Mini-tales without words. You give them to someone, but secretly you would just as soon put them in a wooden card holder on the shelf yourself.

Beautiful to send, even nicer to display

This card is wonderful as an individual card with a gift, but also very beautiful just to display in your home. On a shelf, near a plant, next to a candle, or in a simple wooden card holder. The deep colors and the dreamy illustration give it an immediate sense of warmth and coziness.

Summer Evening is a lovely card for someone who enjoys gardening, nature, small fairy-tale details, or simply beautiful illustrations. You really only need to write one sentence on it, and it already feels personal. Surely that’s much nicer than a text message that disappears among shopping lists and group chats after three seconds?

Printed on sustainable Paperwise paper

The postcard is printed on sturdy 295-gram Paperwise paper. That paper is made from 100% recycled agricultural waste. Residual plant material is given a second life as beautiful paper. No freshly cut trees, but smarter use of what is already there. That makes us happy.

The paper has a warm natural tone and a visible fiber structure. This gives the card that fine, soft retro look that perfectly complements the illustrations of Illu-ster. Not stark white and smooth, but rather a bit natural. As if the card already carries a story before you even write something on it.

Why we love Illu-ster so much

At Natur-el, we love products with a maker behind them. Saskia Heijmans is an illustrator who creates images that show small pieces of beauty. Fine things, funny things, and sometimes also a bit comforting things. And she also thinks about sustainability: as little packaging as possible, beautiful paper, and products that aren't intended to be thrown away immediately.

That fits perfectly with what we like to have in our shop. Small, special, consciously made, and chosen with love. Moreover, with this card, you are also supporting a local female maker. And honestly, that’s something we should appreciate more often.

Product specifications

Brand: Illu-ster

Illustration: Summer Evening

Product: postcard / greeting card

Size: A6, 10.5 x 14.8 cm

Paper: 295 grams Paperwise paper

Material: 100% recycled paper from agricultural waste

Details: warm natural tone, visible fiber structure, and rounded corners

Nice for: sending, giving as a gift, or displaying as a mini piece of art

Frequently asked questions about this Illu-ster postcard

How big is the card?
The card is A6 size: 10.5 x 14.8 cm.
