It is annoying if wool socks start to \"bunch up\" because they are too loose. If in doubt, you can always contact us. The cuffs of the pure wool socks contain tiny elastic threads, so you don't have to worry about the socks sagging. The elastic does not touch the skin. Then ALWAYS do so on a wool wash cycle with a wool detergent that contains lanolin. Wool shrinks due to temperature fluctuations, not heat. A wool wash cycle has the same temperature the whole time, which makes the chance of shrinking very small. And it can happen faster than you think. The fact that pure wool socks wear out is because our socks, unlike 99% of all other \"wool socks\" sold, really contain no synthetic yarns. This makes the wool a lot more vulnerable to wear and tear. We therefore recommend that you rotate your socks regularly and purchase multiple pairs. Always wear them in well-fitting shoes in which you do not \"slide\". That accelerates the wear process significantly. For some, it happens after just a few days, and others can wear them for winters. Check your socks after every wear to see if they have become thin. Typical places are at the toes, under the ball of your foot, or at the heels.
