The cuff of the pure wool socks contains tiny elastic threads, so you don't have to worry about the socks sagging. The elastic does not touch the skin. Then ALWAYS do so on a wool wash program with a wool detergent that contains lanolin. Wool shrinks due to temperature fluctuations, not due to heat. A wool wash program has the same temperature the whole time, making the chance of shrinkage very small. This makes the wool a lot more vulnerable to wear. We therefore recommend that you rotate your socks regularly and purchase several pairs. Always wear them in well-fitting shoes, in which you do not \"slide\". That accelerates the wear process significantly. For some, it happens after just a few days, and others can wear them for winters.
