It is annoying if woolen socks bunch up because they are too large. If in doubt, you can always contact us. The cuffs of the pure wool socks contain tiny elastic threads, so you don't have to worry about the socks sliding down. The elastic does not touch the skin. Then ALWAYS do so on a wool wash cycle with a wool detergent that contains lanolin. Wool shrinks due to temperature fluctuations, not heat. A wool wash cycle stays at the same temperature the whole time, making the chance of shrinkage very small. And it can happen sooner than you think. The fact that pure wool socks wear out is because our socks, unlike 99% of all other \"woolen socks\" sold, truly contain no synthetic yarns. This makes the wool a lot more vulnerable to wear and tear. We therefore recommend alternating your socks regularly and purchasing multiple pairs. Always wear them in well-fitting shoes where you don't \"slide\". That accelerates the wearing process significantly. For some it's after just a few days, and others can wear them for winters. Fortunately, woolen socks are easy to darn; in our webshop you will find darning wool, darning needles, darning eggs and wooden darning mushrooms. Check your socks after every wear to see if they have become thin. Typical places are at the toes, under the ball of your foot, or at the heels. Do this in time, so that the pure wool socks do not start to unravel.
