In fact, airing out your wool cardigan is enough. You can hang it outside for a night, in an open window, or in the bathroom. Wool has a self-cleaning property, so the chance of your wool starting to smell is very small! Do you still want to wash it? Then wash your wool cardigans or sweaters on a wool cycle with a wool detergent that contains lanolin. That is very important, because your wool wants to be well cared for.
