Cultivating organic cotton uses no synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, unlike conventional cotton farming. The GOTS certification also sets requirements for fibre processing and includes social criteria for the people working within the certified production chain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis doesn't mean a new pair of trousers has zero impact. Growing, dyeing, producing, and transporting still require resources and energy. The gain here lies in certified organic fibres, supervision of the production chain, and a timeless design that you can wear for years in many different ways.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWashing instructions for cotton flannel\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eLet the trousers air out after wearing; often, washing isn't necessary yet. If they do need to go in the machine, wash them \u003cstrong\u003einside out on a mild cycle\u003c\/strong\u003e and always follow the temperature on the wash label. Use a small amount of mild detergent and wash dark colours with similar shades.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA wool wash cycle and wool detergent are not needed for these trousers: the RUDI is made of cotton. It is better not to put them in the tumble dryer. This can cause shrinkage and make the soft flannel texture wear out faster.
